Built in a garage, not a boardroom

UGView is made by Mécanique UG Inc., an independent repair shop in Pointe-Claire, Québec. The shop runs its own daily operations on it — appointments, repair orders, invoices, inspections, payroll — which is why the software argues with you about things real shops argue about.

Why it exists

The shop tried the American platforms. They worked, and they billed by the seat, spoke English to French customers, and knew nothing about what the province of Québec expects from a garage and when. So the owner built the thing he wanted: one flat price per shop, French in front of the customer, and a calendar that already knows about CNESST, lift inspections, extinguishers, source deductions and TPS/TVQ remittances.

What that means for you

• Flat pricing. $129 a month per shop. Hire someone and the bill does not change.
• Bilingual for real. Not a translated menu — the invoice, the estimate, the confirmation email and the booking page all speak French.
• Small on purpose. You can reach the people who write it. That is the upside; the downside is that we are not a thousand-person company, and we say so.
