Both run a repair shop end to end. They are aimed at different shops, and the price model is the clearest difference: UGView is flat per shop, AutoLeap is tiered.
| Question | UGView | AutoLeap |
|---|---|---|
| Price model | $129/month flat per shop. Unlimited users and bays. | Published tiers that rise with features; a setup fee exists and is not published. |
| Try before buying | Start it yourself. 7 days with no card, 21 once a card is added. | Demo-led — AutoLeap's own site says it does not offer a free trial, citing custom setup. |
| French / bilingual | Built in Québec. Interface, invoices, customer emails and the public booking page all run in French. | English-first. |
| Canadian taxes | GST/QST (TPS/TVQ) native, itemised per line on printed invoices. | Serves Canadian shops; confirm QST handling with them. |
| Shop size it suits | 1–12 bays, independent. | Independents through larger multi-bay operations. |
| Company behind it | Small and independent, run by a working shop. | Venture-funded, large customer base, staffed support organisation. |
Pricing note, September 2026: UGView's $129 flat is published on its own pricing page. For the others, prices move and tiers change — comparisons published this year put entry tiers for Shopmonkey, Tekmetric and AutoLeap roughly in the $179–$239 per month range before add-ons, with per-user charges on some plans, but check each vendor's own pricing page for today's number rather than trusting any comparison table, including this one. The structural difference is the point: one flat price per shop, versus tiers that rise with users, features or add-ons.
AutoLeap brings a bigger organisation: more integrations, a support team with shifts, and years of public reviews you can read before you sign. That is worth real money and you should weigh it.
UGView brings a bill that does not grow when you hire, French that is not a translation layer, and the fact that the people building it run a shop on it — the compliance calendar exists because a Québec owner kept missing CNESST dates.
Said plainly, because you will find out anyway: UGView is a small independent product with a few dozen shops on it, not a funded platform with thousands. It has almost no third-party review history yet. There is no dealership DMS integration, no heavy-truck or fleet module, and no multi-location group reporting. If you run several locations and need consolidated reporting across them, buy one of the bigger systems.
UGView has a trial you can start yourself — no card, no demo call — so the fastest honest test is to put one real repair order through both. Book the demo with AutoLeap, and while you wait for the slot, run a week of your own work through UGView. Whichever one your service advisor stops complaining about wins.
